This approximately 720 sq ft tandem garage received a Wombat decorative flake finish. The project combined concrete preparation, selected joints filled flush and a clear protective topcoat for everyday vehicle parking and household use.

For a standard full-flake garage system, our published planning range is $8.50–$11.50 per sq ft CAD. Your written quote is based on measured area, concrete condition, preparation, repairs and the selected coating build. Shop and commercial floors require their own specification.
A 20 × 20 ft garage calculates to $3,400–$4,600 CAD at the full-flake planning rate. Minimum project charges, extra repairs, coating removal, moisture treatment and vertical surfaces can change the total. The quote confirms inclusions and applicable taxes.

Flake and quartz describe the broadcast finish. Epoxy and polyaspartic describe resin materials that can be used in compatible layers of the same floor. Compare the complete system, including preparation and topcoat.

Review a physical flake or quartz sample and discuss the sealed surface. Wet boots, tires, workshop spills and cleaning equipment influence the right amount of texture. Decorative flake alone does not establish wet slip resistance.
A specified polyaspartic topcoat can provide UV resistance and faster curing, but the product's moisture, temperature and return-to-service limits still govern installation.
A floor coating bonds to the prepared concrete beneath it. We assess old paint, sealers, oil contamination, weak surface material and damage before recommending preparation and coating layers.
Mechanical grinding creates the surface profile needed by the selected system. Repair materials and preparation are matched to cracks, pits and spalled areas. We distinguish saw-cut control joints from joints that must accommodate movement, then agree which remain visible and which can be filled.
Ongoing concrete movement can cause cracks to reappear through a coating.
Rainwater brought in by a vehicle and moisture moving through the slab need different responses. Testing, primer selection and any mitigation must suit the concrete and product limits. Parking example: the documented Maple Ridge tandem garage allowed five days before vehicle use. Your parking date is confirmed for your system and conditions; a fast-curing topcoat does not mean every garage is ready for vehicles the next day.
Often, yes. We assess the existing layer and its bond, then specify removal or other preparation needed for the new system. Loose paint, weak concrete and contamination must be addressed before coating.
They can work together. An epoxy base with full-flake broadcast and a compatible polyaspartic topcoat is one option. The choice depends on the slab, moisture, application conditions, sunlight and the required parking schedule.

Water, oils and other contamination can make a coated floor slippery. Aggregate and final topcoat texture can improve traction. We balance the required grip with cleaning needs, footwear and how the garage is used.
The moisture source, test results and product limits determine the next step. A suitable mitigation system may be needed, or water entry may need correction first. An unheated building also needs workable slab temperature and humidity during installation.
The work area needs to be clear for grinding, repairs and coating. Discuss fixed cabinetry, appliances, heavy equipment and access at the assessment so the scope identifies what stays and what must be moved.
Remove grit regularly, clean spills promptly and use cleaners compatible with the installed system. Rinse away cleaning residue and follow the handover instructions. Textured workshop floors may need suitable scrubbing equipment.
