Many garage projects fall within this published planning range. Slab condition, old coating removal, repairs, moisture requirements and the selected finish determine the final price.
These floors are priced from the actual preparation, system build, floor area, traffic, chemical exposure and access plan. Cove base, drain transitions, line marking and phased installation are defined separately where required.
Garage budget example: At $8–$12 per sq. ft., a 450 sq. ft. floor gives a planning allowance of approximately $3,600–$5,400 CAD before applicable taxes. Your itemized quote confirms the preparation, repairs, coating layers and any additional work.

Preparation before coating
We assess existing coatings and contaminants, then diamond grind or use the preparation method required by the selected system to create a suitable concrete profile. Coating over weak paint can compromise the new floor.
Oil-affected concrete, cracks, spalls and damaged edges are reviewed before coating. Moving joints and structural cracks need appropriate detailing; a decorative finish alone will not prevent concrete movement.
Moisture testing helps determine whether the slab is suitable for the selected primer and coating. Concrete temperature, humidity and dew point are checked against the manufacturer's installation requirements.
Wet tires and tracked-in rain are different from moisture moving through the slab. If testing identifies excess slab moisture, the quote must specify suitable mitigation or a different system within product limits. Active leaks, drainage faults and hydrostatic pressure need separate diagnosis.
Appearance & performance
Flake and quartz describe a floor's aggregate finish; epoxy and polyaspartic describe coating chemistry. A garage system can combine an epoxy base, decorative flake and a compatible polyaspartic topcoat. Product selection and the complete coating build determine performance.

A compatible UV-resistant polyaspartic topcoat can be useful near bright garage openings. Cure speed, chemical resistance and recoat requirements depend on the selected product and installation conditions.
For wet footwear, vehicle entries or sloped areas, we plan traction with aggregate or additives. More texture can change cleaning requirements, so the finish needs to balance grip and maintenance.
For a service bay, share the fluids and cleaners used, how often spills occur and how quickly they are removed. Chemical resistance is assessed against those exposures.
Access, installation & handover
Arrange temporary storage for vehicles, bikes, shelving and loose items. We confirm access, protected areas and the time needed before vehicles or stored equipment can return.
Identify fixed equipment, active work zones and the available shutdown window. The scope must account for contamination removal, repairs, coating and cure time before normal loads resume.
Coordinate notices, access routes, ventilation and reopening with the property representative. Phased work is reviewed against the floor layout and coating requirements.
Many smaller garage installations involve around 2–3 days of preparation and coating, but repairs, moisture treatment, temperature and system choice can extend the schedule. Permission for foot traffic, vehicle use and chemical exposure is confirmed separately from completion of the coating work.

Vehicle and equipment return times depend on the coating, temperature, cure conditions and intended loads. We confirm the handover schedule for your system; being ready for foot traffic does not necessarily mean the floor is ready for vehicles or chemicals.
