Epoxy, polyaspartic and urethane-cement perform different jobs. The right choice depends on the slab and exposure, including sunlight at open garage doors, wet winter tires and the fluids used in a service bay.
Decorative garage finish
A prepared concrete base, compatible primer or epoxy base, broadcast flake and a clear wear coat create the finished system.
A specified UV-resistant polyaspartic topcoat can be useful near bright garage openings. Product selection and cure conditions still matter.
Shop and commercial traffic
Solid-colour epoxy and aggregate-broadcast systems offer different combinations of appearance, build thickness and surface texture.

Demanding wet-use areas
Some washdown or processing areas need a system designed for specific chemical exposure, cleaning temperatures and thermal cycling.
Thickness, drainage, coving and operating conditions are assessed together. A standard decorative garage build may not suit these demands.
Choose the wear coat for the actual exposure. Clear water, road grit and spills should be removed as part of routine maintenance. Texture can improve traction, but a more textured floor also needs a cleaning method that reaches the surface.
For an unheated garage or shop, installation is scheduled around the concrete temperature and the product requirements. A warm air reading alone does not establish that a cold slab is ready to coat.
Garage floor resurfacing starts with finding out why the existing surface is worn, cracked or peeling. A coating can improve sound concrete; moving cracks, unsound material and water problems need their own repair plan.

Diamond grinding, coating removal or another suitable preparation method creates the required surface profile. Repairs and joints are treated according to their condition.

They can be used together. Epoxy is commonly used as a base or build layer, with decorative flake and a compatible polyaspartic wear coat above it. The recommended build depends on concrete condition, UV exposure, texture and timing.
Often, provided the underlying concrete is suitable. Loose paint, contamination and unsound concrete must be addressed. Moving cracks, joints and moisture can affect the repair method and may remain visible or need separate treatment.
The system is selected for the intended exposure, including vehicle traffic and tracked-in moisture. Remove grit, salt residue and spills regularly. A resin coating does not repair water entry, drainage problems or movement in the underlying slab.
Installation may be possible in a suitably controlled building. The concrete and air temperatures, moisture, humidity and product cure requirements must be met. An unheated space may need different scheduling or suitable temporary heat.
Yes. Aggregate or traction additives can be selected for the intended use. Wet areas need a balance between traction and cleanability. No coating makes every wet, oily or icy surface slip-proof.
Vehicle use is confirmed for the selected system and site conditions. Installation time and cure time are different: a floor that permits foot traffic may still need more curing before vehicles, heavy equipment or chemical exposure.
