A decorative coating is not automatically a waterproofing membrane. Wet areas, elevated decks and parkades need their own assessment of joints, drains, cracks and the structure beneath the finish.
Epoxy flooring colours & finish samples
Compare solid colours, decorative flakes and quartz blends. These samples come from our colour chart; confirm the final colour, flake size, gloss and texture with a physical sample for your project.
Screens and lighting affect colour appearance. Texture and slip resistance depend on the complete installed system and its maintenance.

Assess the slab and its use
We review existing coatings, cracks, contamination, moisture concerns, traffic and cleaning. Where moisture testing is required, results are assessed against the selected system's limits.

Prepare and repair the concrete
Mechanical preparation, including diamond grinding where appropriate, creates the required surface profile. Unsound material and incompatible coatings are addressed, with cracks, edges and joints detailed for the project.

Install the specified flooring system
Primer, resin layers, decorative broadcast or aggregate, and the protective finish are applied to the agreed specification. Texture, boundaries and transitions are planned before installation.

Confirm cure and reopening requirements
Walking, moving equipment, parking vehicles and chemical cleaning may need different waiting periods. We plan the handover around the installed products and actual site conditions.
For occupied buildings, we discuss work zones, dust control, ventilation, deliveries and alternative access. A fast-curing topcoat does not remove the time needed for preparation, repairs or underlying layers.

Vancouver epoxy flooring questions
Can you coat old or previously painted concrete?
Often, yes. We first assess the existing coating, concrete strength, contamination and moisture. Failing paint or incompatible material may need removal. Structural movement or an active moisture problem needs to be resolved as part of the scope.
Is epoxy or polyaspartic better for my floor?
Neither is best for every project. Epoxy can provide the base or build coat, while a suitable polyaspartic finish may offer faster curing and UV stability. Preparation, compatibility, required thickness and exposure determine the complete system.
Are epoxy floors slippery when wet?
Smooth finishes can become slippery with water, oil or other contaminants. Aggregate and topcoat selection can improve traction, but no finish eliminates slip risk. We discuss texture alongside cleaning, drainage and how the area is used.
How long does installation take?
The schedule depends on floor area, removal, repairs, moisture treatment and coating cure times. We confirm working days and separate reopening times for foot traffic, vehicles and normal operations after reviewing the site.
Can you install flooring while a business stays open?
Some projects can be completed in isolated phases or during planned closures. Access, ventilation, preparation work and cure requirements determine whether continued operation is practical.
How do I maintain an epoxy floor?
Remove abrasive grit, clean spills promptly and use products compatible with the installed finish. Equipment wheels and furniture feet should be kept in good condition. Review worn areas early so maintenance or recoating can be planned before wider damage develops.
